Connect an AI agent

Work on your CV and cover letters inside Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, or another MCP-capable tool. The agent can read your career foundation and save its work into your account; an edit based on an older version is refused, so it never saves over changes it has not seen.

Free, with no API key. The workspace is free for launch. Your assistant’s own plan and limits apply. Built-in AI is currently switched off; no paid CV Tool plan is available.

The button opens Claude with the connector name and URL already filled in. Confirm Add, sign in to New CV Tool if asked, then approve access.

Cursor shows its own approval dialog, writes the server into mcp.json, then runs the same sign-in.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT’s directory listing is awaiting review. A custom MCP connection is available where your account offers developer mode; set it up on the web:

Open ChatGPT Settings → Apps → Advanced and turn on Developer mode. Some accounts still show the toggle under Settings → Connectors → Advanced.
Back in Settings, add a custom connector.
Paste the connection URL above, save, then approve the New CV Tool page that opens.
Open a new chat and switch New CV Tool on there — a saved connector stays off until you enable it in the chat.

Coding tools

Claude Code and Codex each connect with one command. Any other coding agent can usually configure itself from the plain-language instruction.

First prompt after connecting

Help me set up my New CV Tool profile. Call who_am_i, then get_started. If my profile is empty, start with my existing CV if I have one, then take one step at a time. Save only facts I provide or explicitly confirm with add_profile_facts. Prior memory is not stored account data or approval.

This gives the agent the product rules. An empty profile can be built in the chat; an existing one is never rewritten without asking.

What you are approving

Read your career profile and your saved applications.
Save found jobs without a CV (save_opportunity) and move them found / look closer / out / apply.
Save CV and letter edits to the application you have open.
Add facts you explicitly provide, with their source recorded.

It cannot save over changes it has not seen, or submit an application.
It cannot change your name or contact details.
It cannot access another user or spend your CV Tool AI credits.
It cannot treat prior-chat memory as stored account data or save it without your specific approval.

What you need

A free New CV Tool account and an MCP-capable assistant. Your profile can start empty; an existing CV helps you build it. No payment and no developer API key. Your assistant’s own usage limits still apply.
